Sore and Bored

This past week has been pretty busy, sorry for not posting. We had our guitar festival yesterday at Hershey Park and I am completely exhausted. Every single group from Bowie got superior ratings, and Advanced Guitar 2 won Overall Best Small Ensemble. So yesterday was pretty successful and fun. I'm just tired. And now I have nothing to do, which explains why I'm bored. I guess it's time to cleen my room....

Subconscious Matching

So today my mother treated me, Trisha, and my friend Jessica to pedicures and manicures, and I was having a difficult time deciding on a color. So, I did my toes in one color and my fingernails another color, and the two colors match my bedsheets. How perfect.

Today was a fun day. Jessica came over and we went over to Mrs. Reams house to get dresses for a show at our school. Then we came back to my house and worked on a bunch of different projects, then went to get our nails done. We had a nice family barbecue outside, and then sat down to watch Slumdog Millionaire, which was AMAZING! And now I'm doing this.

Last night I had to babysit 7 kids, which wasn't as bad as it seems, but I was so tired at the end of the night that I fell asleep before the parents got home and woke up as they walked in the door. All the kids were asleep, but I still felt bad. So much for the alarm I set to wake me up!
Well I'm pretty exhausted now. Time for this girl to go to sleep.

Gonna Have a Good Day

The title of this blog comes from the song Good Day by Click Five, who I used to be obsessed with in 8th grade. But the lyrics sing sing true of today. First I got my SAT2 Subject test scores back, and I scored an 750 out of 800 on the biology section. I got a 610 on Lit, which isn't that bad considering I hadn't taken the course, and 570 on US which i expected, because I completely forgot everything from freshman year. So I'm pretty happy with my scores.
We finished the cat dissection today, and we had so pretty interesting events occur today. We couldn't find our cats kidney's today, because they were completely covered by fat, which is not normal. When we pushed back the digestive organs we saw these two huge pink structures and had no idea what they were, so we called our Ms. Jenkins to help us find the kidney's and they weren't they. She thought the pink structures might have been the ovaries, but we had already found those. So she told us to cut out one of the pink structures and do a cross sections to see if it was the kidney. It was. Our kidney was completely covered by this huge fat membrane. It was pretty weird. A lot of the cats were sick, one had heart worms, and our lungs were all black. But this dissection was pretty cool overall, once you got to the inside.

One semi-bad thing happened today. We had the reelections for NHS vice president today, since me and Tommy tied last time, and Tommy won. But I'm okay with it. I told myself I wouldn't get angry or upset about the election, and I haven't. My friend won, and is happy so I'm happy. I just keep thinking back about who voted for who, and I really need to stop, because that won't help anything. I already am president of Tri-M music honor society and treasurer of Best Buddies. Tommy can have NHS VP.

The best part about today was the weather. It was beautiful outside, not to hot but still sunny. There wasn't a single cloud in the sky. I reclined on the trampoline and listened to music, and then I went to the park with Ify just to relax and be a little kid again. Then I came home and watched Sense and Sensibility, which was so romantic. I really need to read more Jane Austen. So overall, I had a good day, and tomorrow is Friday, and then it's the weekend.

The Cat and the Queen

Today, we finally started our cat dissection. Chris, Gabby, and I named our cat Captain Dreamsicle because of her orange coat. I have to admit, I was a little creeped out at first, but once we got to the inside, it was pretty cool. I can handle the guts, it was the face I couldn't handle. The only really disgusting thing is the smell; the cats don't smell dead, but they have so many preservatives in them that stink so badly! I feel like I'm inhaling a chemical plant. I really want to start the circulatory system section; right now were in the middle of the digestive system which is boring, but we have all week.

I actually played guitar today in class, which is not a normal occurrence. I also learned how to play Habanera thanks to Devon, who played it for me so I could hear how the parts go. I can read music well, but with guitar, I really need to hear how the part is supposed to sound so I know when I'm playing it wrong and can fix it. So now I know almost all of my music for festival. I have all of advanced guitar 1 music, now I just need to finish learning level 2, which shouldn't be too bad because I played the other 2 songs last year, just different parts.

HSA testing took forever today, so they just extended 3rd period into fourth, so I didn't go to English today. We just more of Escape From Sobibor in World, which is about a revolt in Nazi death camp. The movie is pretty interesting, it's just kind of hard to watch sometimes because of the subject, and what we know now about the camps. But overall, today was a pretty chill day, and now I have the house to myself, and food to cook, because my parents just left for my brothers baseball game. Time to watch TV. =]

Practice Makes Perfect

Today I did something I never do; I practiced my guitar music for festival. Shocker, I know! The rest of my day was pretty boring though. In pre-calc we just taught ourselves. In biology we watched Madagascar 2 and we didn't start our cat dissection like we were supposed to. We sang in choir, and I made up a test. And English was literally 2 seconds long since first and second period we're extended for testing. Mads auditions we're after school today, and I really hope I made it this year. But it's in the hands of Mrs. Minor and Ms. Ryon. Tomorrow is going to be another boring day that results in boring posts, but at least I'm posting. =]

A Golden Afternoon

Today, I spent my time lazily reading on my trampoline. It was great. The sun warmed my face and the spring breeze relaxed me as I was enthralled with The Luxe. If you haven't read it you should; it's a great book. Very dramatic. Today was a boring day at school though. HSA testing began which meant first and second period went on for hours! But we had a bit of a party in English celebrating the end of AP tests for the year, which was fun. The rest of this week is going to go by extremely slow, but I guess that's better then being swamped with homework.

On the blog front, I decided a change of scenery would get the creative juice flowing, so I changed my template, and have more to alter. So blog is under construction for now, until I get the feel I want. But it's getting close. Feedback on the new look would be appreciated.

I'm BACK!!!

To anyone who ever read this, I am truly sorry for abandoning my blog. I don't really know what happened but all of a sudden I just stopped checking my blog, even though I had plenty of time to. I think it my life was just moving to fast for me to stop a reflect, which is what I do here. But things are finally slowing down. School is coming to an end and I am about to be a SENIOR! Can you believe it? I can! Last week was AP week, and I survived my three AP exams. Now I just have to wait til July to get my score reports back. But this means the end of the year will consist of movies and busy work which is fine by me. Pop's was last weekend, and me and my sister did a duet of Hello, Goodbye. The theme was British Invasion and it was so much fun! Speaking of fun, I cannot wait for summer and for this year to be over! I have worked so hard, I need a break! So, that was a recap of my life since March. Sorry for not writing, but I would like to thank Just a girl name for her message. It really means a lot to me that people read what I write, and enjoy it. Now I won't stop writing. =]
